DIY: Product Photography Hack Exposed

Hello everyone and welcome to yet another blog post that I have install for you today. This one is super easy and super fun to do too, so if none of the others have inspired you to try it yourself then this has to be one for you. You will already have these things lying around so no excuses! Not only is it super fun but the outcomes are amazing, with endless possibilities.

What you will need:

2 lights or torches

A backdrop (this can be as simple as you like)

Sweet wrappers

A product that will reflect light

A camera or phone to take the images

Tape

What you will need to do:

-start by unravelling the sweet wrappers, this is the best part as you can eat the chocolate inside

- with the torches tuned off, use the tape to attach the wrappers around the torch. Don’t use too much tape as the torches will begin to heat up and you don’t want to trap the heat inside

-next you want to create your scene; you need to create a studio type background which can easily be achieved with a simple bedsheet

-place the product of your choice in the centre of the studio floor

-surround the product with the torches or lights in any place that looks good to you

-make sure all the lights in the room are off and no natural light is coming in

-now snap away and get the shots you want!

Verdict:

Overall, I had no problems or issues with the production of this experiment, everything went as it has planned and I was happy with the outcome. This hack leaves a lot of space for the photographer to be as creative as they wish. It is fun and practical, and I believe would make anyone enjoy photography that bit more. The experiment was cheap, costing practically nothing so that is why I am giving this hack a thumbs up! It’s a TRUE.
